Michael prettiness - beware fan girl wibble ahead

[crossposted to wolfshead]

Um. Yeah. I'm still really rather lost for words. There are very few men I would happily run off with and damn the consequences. Michael Praed is now one. As Ann says, he's unfairly handsome. As Ayla says, he's severely fuckable. There aren't many man that do almost elfin beauty with complete masculinity. He is certainly one!

And a wonderful actor. And a *lovely* man.

Saw him in "Misery" last night, at the King's Head Theatre in Islington, north London, playing (obviously) Paul Sheldon to Susan Penhaligon's Annie. (S.P. is a wonderful wonderful actress).

Wonderful show, really well done. If you know the book, you'll know the stage show. It's much more like the book than the film is. CHMs abounded in the second half when Michael was wearing a really loose blue shirt with the top few buttons undone *guh* And it was a tiny theatre - about 30 seats, and I was sitting in the front row, so everything was *really* close to.

He says "fuck" like he means it, smokes so beautifully I could have sat and watched him for hours. His hands are lovely (just for Ann).

Before the show - no, wait - the day *before* the show I decided to scribble a quick pic of him and take it along and try and get it signed - so before the show, after deciding that really I wanted to get it signed for Ann and Ayla as an early Christmas present / Halloween present / 2005 present I asked the lady who was doling out the tickets if such a thing would be possible. She thought so, gave me a free programme and gave me ticket #1 for the show(!). She went and found the stage manager, who readily agreed and grabbed the pic and took it backstage to Michael. A few minutes later she returns with an unsigned pic. My heart sinks. For a moment. Until she said Michael had seen the pic, and wanted to meet me after the show, and he'd sign it then. *DIES*

OMG. I nearly died. The show kinda passed in a bit of a blur! Afterwards he appears, looking gorgeously dishevelled as if he'd just quickly taken off his stage stuff and put his own clothes on. He was wearing a yellow ski jacket, zipped up. And glasses. LOL can't remember any more! And his hair - omg - Susan Penhaligon spends half the play with her fingers in his hair, and I don't blame her!

So anyway, he asks me if I want a drink. Sure. Gin and tonic. He gets a beer. He sits down opposite me and asks for the pic. Looks impressed with it. And we just start talking. About Robin of Sherwood, about Misery, about the traffic hell that is London, etc etc. He's *so* nice. Signs the pic.

To quote from msn of earlier, cos its amusing:

Atalante says:
he writes *so* precisely, I've never seen anyone write like that before
Aylaleia - Goddess of Justice and Vengeance says:
I'm so glad you got to meet him!!
Atalante says:
every stroke is very deliberate
Aylaleia - Goddess of Justice and Vengeance says:
*guh* Pervy thoughts
Atalante says:
I think thats prolly a metaphor for other things
Aylaleia - Goddess of Justice and Vengeance says:
MMR
Atalante says:
MMR
Aylaleia - Goddess of Justice and Vengeance says:
*lh*

Anyway, after 10 minutes or so he has to go, and apologises for not staying longer! And - and - and tells me I'm talented. "Really talented". He says that. In those words. I die. And leave with him before I faint on the floor. He gives me a hug and says thank you for showing him the pic. Thank *ME*? OMG! I could thank him for hours for everything!!

So that was that.

I had a nice evening :)
